BSC Member – Jessica Cardin, Ph.D.

Dr. Cardin is Professor of Neuroscience and Psychiatry at Yale University, where she is a member of the Kavli Neuroscience Institute and the Wu Tsai Institute. Her research is focused on the flexible function of cortical circuits and how the complex interactions among excitatory and inhibitory cortical neurons are dysregulated in neurodevelopmental and neurodegenerative disorders. Dr. Cardin is a recipient of the McKnight Scholar Award, Klingenstein Fellowship Award, Alfred P. Sloan Fellowship, Smith Family Award for Excellence in Biomedical Research, and the Novartis Global Scholar Award. Dr. Cardin received her B.A. in biology from Cornell University, followed by a Ph.D. in neuroscience from the University of Pennsylvania and postdoctoral training at UPenn and MIT.
