  • Detail Opportunities for Post Docs and Visiting Fellows

The NIMH Office of Fellowship Training (OFT) is extending the opportunity to Post Doctoral or Visiting Fellows who are at least in their second year to request support for a non-research related career pathway in the form of a detail. The detail can only be for a period of up to 3 months and must be justified as a part of the training experience. To complete the process, the fellow must identify the opportunity, obtain permission from their mentor and agree to return to their research position at the completion of the detail. See NIMH Detail Policy.

  • NIH Take Your Child to Work Day
NIMH participates in the annual NIH Take Your Child to Work Day, which usually occurs in April. This is a great opportunity for trainees to gain experience in teaching and organizing a scientific presentation or activity. Trainees who are interested in participating in the annual NIH Take Your Child to Work Day should have a discussion with their Principal Investigator expressing their interest, and obtain approval.
